Answer the why, and you’ll find people who share your beliefs, values, and priorities and will buy whatever you offer because of that.

Very few businesses know WHY they do what they do. WHY is not about making money. That’s a result. It’s a purpose, cause or belief, it’s the very reason your business exists.

Have you ever wondered why some people are more successful than others? Leading author and Leadership guru Simon Sinek did, and found that there was a clear pattern of thought, action, and success which he created a chart and called it the golden circle:

Sinek found that people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.

One of the large companies he studied was Apple.  Apple was able to branch out into MP3 players, smartphones, and other products and people didn’t blink an eye because people buy Apples WHY.  Many other qualified companies who branched out into those fields failed.

Here is Apples why, how and what…

Why – Everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo, we believe in thinking differently.
How – We make products that are beautifully designed and user friendly.
What – We just happen to make great computers – wanna buy one?

Sinek says, “The goal is not to do business with everyone who needs what you have, but everyone who believes what you believe.” Not every client is right for you. Look for people who believe and think like you. People who value the same things you do.
